He's here!

Joe is here to promote my Tumblr page. YEAHH XD

Realized I haven't had much to say here since I started college. A lot has change; and I probably dislike blogging what I've done today, yesterday, and tomorrow like some blogs do, unless its really significant I have enough viewpoints on the event, I'll write. Or else, its pretty worthless unless you're releasing some hatred speech or trying to tell the whole world (literally) that you dislike someone.

I prefer to put on what I Love.

(like that guy above yo,)

another reason is that my main interests have shifted. I no longer do what I did in high school, my concerns are no longer the same, I look much further into the future than I ought to; but you'll still see the movies, books, music, all the same.

architectural interests are at : http://thesamejulia.wordpress.com

my likings have grown tremendously. and I reblog more than I write. therefore, use tumblr! :D

Bach on the Black Book.

Somehow, Bach's disproportionate figure caricature of Symphony 92.4's car decal ended up on my black book.

Not like that like Bach very much, but after being the last one to find my black book with zero personalisation, I decided to draw something that was right in front of me at that point of time - the car decal on my clear box file. Ahah.

Back in JB for only this week since CCA's haven't officially started - which means I'm still pretty much free from other activities except course project which often gets on my nerves. Is it so hard to work with unenthusiastic people? Hmm. Yes. Hmm. Actually no, if you have enough power- but I don't.

I don't get it.

After 5 hours of reading up on Singapore's water problem and finishing up my group's Environmental Science write-up, I shall enjoy home-cook dinner.

Have a nice Wednesday.

O Holy Night.

Adolphe Adam, 1847.

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees! O, hear the angels' voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.

He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Behold your King.

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.

Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.

Christmas has been over commercialized to be all about celebration and partying with lightings, loud music, beer, and cheer. Not forgetting Santa Claus with his bag of materialistic presents and the optic fibre trees with expensive balls and ornaments. Plus, extravagant families having wine, turkey, and laughters.

We don't really need all those. The world needs Love. Travel 2008 years back.

Merry Christmas

Come Home for Christmas.

My dear friend here did not come home on 11th December.
That morning I went to Singapore.
Walked to the bus stop and spotted him at his usual spot after his morning walk,
the opposite neighbours' house.
He knows how to comes home when its time to.
He is also street smart, and will not wander far off from home.
But this time he did not come home and is not at the neighbours' house.
He's 7 plus, coming 8; but still going strong and steady.
He knows simple tricks like sit, hand, up, stay, eat, say please et cetera.
He also responses to cat, cockroach, cicak, rat, and a few other creatures' names.
He sings to C major scale on piano, the first few bars of Chopin's Scherzo no.2 in B flat minor, double stops on violin, and Boccherini's Minuet from Suzuki Book 2.

10 promises to my dog Pictures, Images and Photos
and, Just 2 days before he went missing I watched this with my family.

This was Christmas 2007.

Hoping nobody does anything mean to him. =/

New Way To Be Human.

Everday it's the same thing
Another trend has begun
Hey kids, this might be the one.

It's a race to be noticed
And it's leaving us numb
Hey kids, we can't be the ones

And where is our inspiration?
When all the heroes are are gone
Hey kids, could we be the ones?

'Cause nobody's famous
And nobody's fine
We all need forgiveness
We're longing inside

You're a new way to be human
Where my humanity bends
To a new way to be human
Redemption begins

Ahah.
Chong Wei, Chong Wei. Playing badminton on enemy's ground. Your Homeland people are no where to be seen. Maybe Lee Kuan Yew was there. But your Country Leaders are back home picking fights with each other. Only people in red and yellow shouting their lungs out for you to be smashed.
Before he knows it, he's crushed into million of pieces.
Migrate lah. Like how some China people becomes a Singapore citizen, playing for Singapore against their homeland. Singaporeans will give you their full support waving their flag in red and white and five stars. Red Coats and Beige Pants. 1 million bucks.
Political leaders in Malaysia don't have time and money in their pockets for Olympics.
Only a few students here and there have the enthusiasm to support our dear Malaysian player.

There is no place called home on this planet. I am but a stranger passing by.

Little girls who look very much like 14, Kexin maybe, gets a Gold Medal in the Olympic Games.
People like Michael Phelps and Bolt Usain breaks world records. Everbody is improving.
My aunt says her little nieces in Singapore of 9 and 12 writes better essays than we do.
Similarly, many kids in Singapore finish music graded examinations and swimming lessons before they hit 12 and parents digging out precious seconds to do charity work so that the children will have the 'qualifications' to enter a premier school. Yeah Singapore is another country in the race to be notice.
Everyone wants another one more achievement.
Everyone wants another one more A1.
Everyone's in a race to be notice.

This world is fading away together with everything it craves.
I am here on earth for just a little while.

Oh yeah.
Congrats Nadal. Congrats.
Young and Versatile.
He is a good player.

***
I can listen to Ocean Avenue the whole day and not get sick of it.
Go Yellowcard. They have violins!
Just so it happened to play on my iPod yesterday.

There's a piece of you that's here with me,
It's everywhere I go, it's everything I see
When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by,
I can make believe that you're here tonight,
That you're here tonight.

We're looking up at the same night sky
And keep pretending the sun will not rise
We'll be together for one more night,
Somewhere, somehow.

If I could find you now,
Things would get better.
We could leave this town,
And run forever.
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together.
Let your waves crash down on me,
And take me away,yeah.

Ocean Avenue is a Wonder Hit.

There's a piano major in my house.

This morning I woke up thanking God for all the good things that come along in my life.

Yes. It's 7.40am.

That means my mum didn't call me up for school. =D

Symphony 92.4 has been playing on my radio all night long.
Arthur Rubenstein was playing Chopin's Grande Polonaise.
It sounded good and I really liked it.
In other sense, I loved these music.
To me, it is priceless music and should be appreciated.

I realized that I was wrong when I was young and just banged the keys just to please my parents who payed for music lessons.
Nobody actually made me love it.

yes I dropped piano two years back. And then listening to cheap music with sloppy lyrics played on the radio and then purchasing an electric guitar with a little al cheapo amp from the shop nearby to vent teenage anger.
Boo.

And I realized that musically talented people have been appearing in my house this year.

First it was a Filipino family. I thought the 2 boys in their twenties, were the sons. But it did not seemed so. They were from the church worship team back in the Philippines.
One played the Saxophone brilliantly.
One played the keys like nobody's business. Well, I am always impressed with these kind of people. =D

Then Auntie Nancy whom I was asked to play the keys for her.
I was impressed the way she did the very complex chords in her head and play it out straightaway.

And today, a piano major stepped into my house.
She's a Chinese from the States, and is here to do some personal business. My parent's family friend, that is.
She saw my piano from the entrance and got excited, 'you play the piano?? *big happy smiles* I majored in piano 20 years back!  What grade are you in??'

Oh okay oh kaykay :/

I gave a big grin and went upstairsXD

Eventually she found out. ah. Irony of the truth.

She played some improvisation on my piano.
I sat down beside her.
And then she told me about her days in the University. Studying the general subjects at the same time doing practices for recitals and performances.. was somewhat worse than being in a Conservatory because the people in the conservatory had the whole day to practice, and they had to mug for general papers as well as doing practices. And how strict the professor was whom expected you to be able to read the score and play in straightaway otherwise you'll be in big trouble. But she could somehow cope with it because she went through many music system and her basic was the German system which gave her a strong foundation in the basic. And the fun times with her ensemble, the cellist, flautist, and so on.

Interesting.

I realized that music is not going to be my major anytime soon. It requires something pretty much born with you see, otherwise it will be a big struggle of frustration.

Ah.
Let's just sit back and appreciate the beautiful music they play, written by geniuses centuries back.

In this life what you want and what you get are 2 entirely different things. =)

Why is he my Superman:

Happy Family.
Good human. really.
Caring.

Role model. Not only to me.
DIY man.

Super Techie.

I wish I could marry someone as noble as my dad.
My mum is the lucky fella >.<

And not forgetting my heavenly father.<3

Rubik & me & my stupid cube.

Oh wow. It's the last day of the school term.

And I had a terrible migraine from morning.
I'm tired. Really.
And Chem 1 would be another paper I slept on >.>

Thank God for Pocky and the whole family of it.
It makes me a tad better.
Photobucket
A small packet in the box had only 6 sticks>.>
2 went into my stomach.
The other 4 sticks, to 4 of my friends.
(sorry Florence. Next time you wait for my Hello Panda, K. =D)

I WANTED TO WATCH NARNIA. BADLY.
I have my various reasons for wanting to watch it that much.
Then the people I was suppose to go out with, HAD to be free only on the second Wednesday during the holidays.
Grrrr.

And then I had a few titles on my list to watch on DVD:
Amazing Grace
Bella
Mozart and the Whale
Spiderman 3
Seabiscuit
(stop ranting about the not-so-interesting titles, its just something I decided to watchXD)

So I went to holiday plaza with my mum who wanted to buy a birthday gift for her friend.
There was so many pirated media shops.
But I had no luck in finding those titles.
Oh, crapp.

Anyway, Switchfoot Podcast 33 was out a few days ago.
And Tim Foreman was doing a Rubik's Cube at the end of it.

Podacst 33.

And then today my friend Eunice brought 2 cubes to school.
Although she's not pro, but even being able to solve one side is cool enough for me.
Some freaks solve it in 5 to 10 secs, where the whole cube spins and flicks like. an electron? lol

Yes there's formulas for it.
But I wonder how many of them actually discover the whole solution by themselves, eh.
I always thought it should be solved like that, that's why I have one lying in my house for ... 7 years, maybe?
Lol who knows.
All I know its a cheap piece of plastic that jams up everytime I wanna turn it.
Probably bought from a highway shop, when I got bored during a long car ride.

And popularized by some EC guys.
you find them smuggling time to flick and turn one in Classes.
Yes classes like Physics and Add Maths.
Add maths had to be harder than solving that 'common' puzzle, I guess.

But for science one peeps, maybe not.
They score near perfect marks for add maths in every exam. >.>

And then YouTube. Heaps and mountains of people who can solve it like Robots.
Even Better than a Robot made to solve the cube.

This just proved to me that millions and billions of people out there can solve that puzzle.
And I just had to be Not one of them.

So this was the first activity I did in this holidays.
Photobucket

I told you it was a cheap plastic cube.

Gurus.

Although its Teacher's Day and I know that I can be excused from school (no class, heh) but somehow I managed to attend the last Teacher's Day in Secondary School.

Wanted to get some good sleep after going through a few insomniac-nights.

Lets get things clear, I don't do hardcore studying.
I'm just going through coffee symptoms. All kinds of it.
I drink coffee at night, and I force myself to sleep at 4 plus.
Heheh.

The only reason I go for coffee at night because I don't know how my day pass so fast with me doing nothing useful. School books stare back at me in the day but somehow when the day is quieter, at night, then it will be the time I can stare at every word in the book =D

SO teachers day huh.

I slept in the stuffy hall during the speeches. Wanted to hear what Fann said during her speech but sadly, I was asleep in the stuffy, dark hall once Encik Azmi started reading the PPD's head of Department's (whatever his name is) speech.

After the speeches the teachers sang a few songs.

1. Guru Malaysia (? , nice name)
2. Standing in the eyes of the world (or whatever the name is, its an Engrished-Malay song, lol)
3. (And the very famous) Lemon Tree. (Don't even know why we had to sing this song in the morning during assembly once in a while, and now popularized on teacher's day =S)

<span class=

These teachers were cute though. For once acting like kids. (Except my Physics Tuition teacher who seems like a kid every week we meet him for lessons)

Then there was this concert thing where the students can perform an item on stage.
I have to admit that the lower secondary kids are becoming bolder, in the fact 60 percent of the performances were done by them. Unlike our batch and the pass years, lol. Seniors were the one performing.

Harveena and Sara's group choreograph dance for Interact's I.U. Day was called up to perform, without notice, after a group of lower secondary girls perform a dance with the same song they used for their dance.

Me, I'm just happy for them. Really. Although I don't dance, this is what I call a good one. An interesting one.
*claps*
(Because I saw many Terrible and Boring ones too, and I'll be one of them if I ever enter that world LOL)

Hope I'll get the video of it Real soon.

As when some boring fellas were performing on stage, Sarah Wong was doing Sudoku, and I was struggling with some add maths questions, at least I utilize time.

Then the teachers and some students played telematch.
The balloon bursting part was nasty.
I personally hate balloons bursting in my face. lol.
And the Musical Chairs.
Woah. Somehow its a very fun game to play. Really.
Especially if you win, its totally satisfying. I did win a few timesXD
The teachers played like any other kids who would want to win in a musical chairs game. heheh.

After that we went to our classes for some food, and then headed home.
That's about teacher's day this year. Guess its nothing much different compared to the previous years, least that's all I can rememberXD

I think I need to say a really big 'Thank You' to a few teachers whom I remember well and who really helped me in any way during my Secondary School journey.

(Not in order)
Puan Geetha - Physics Form 5, PK Kokurikulum.

Cik Masliana - St. John Teacher Advisor.

Mrs Ignitius - Interact Club Teacher Advisor, St. John Teacher, Add Maths Form 4.

Mrs Lee - Maths Form 3, Add Maths Form 4, Add Maths Form 5.

Auntie Lee Fei - Science Form 2, Science Form 3, Maths Form 2.

Teacher Karen - Intensive one month PMR Malay

Mr Hor - Chem Form 4.

Mr Lim - Chem Form 5.

Mr Yip - Physics Form 4, Physics, Form 5

Speaking of Mr. Yip. =P
Fann and I agreed that his an eccentric person, although very good in physics.
Lol.
He walks in class with a cute knapsack. Like how a little standard one boy would walk into school.
Sometimes he comes with a shoulder bag.
<span class=

And once got wrongly accused of being a gay person by my mum, but of course she wasn't serious about it. Lol.
And the students must be familar with his quirks during teachingXD
From the view from our seats, I can clearly see what he uses to clip his microphone to his shirt collar.

a green bird clip.
<span class=

So I was contemplating on whether to give him these:
<span class=
"Thanks for being a good Physics teacher....cool clips for your mic!"

LOL. Fann said she'll share it.
So it's on. =D

This will be my last year calling someone who teaches me 'teacher' or 'cikgu'.
Next time it will all be 'sirs' and 'professors'. (yes, if I managed to qualify for tertiary education that is.)

It isn't easy to become a good teacher.
Its hard.

So to all the teachers out there, big or small,
Thanks for your hard work.
Otsukaresamadeshita.
And Happy Teacher's Day.

A Pair of Radioactive Corn (Jagung).

One of the guys from Switchfoot said that.

Here are videos of Switchfoot touring 'Koala' Lumpur, having fun with everything around, making hilarious descriptions every now and then, and surfing in the Sunway Lagoon wave pool.

An abnormal genius.

Death Note 'L' fans, take some time to read this interesting article:
http://www.drworm.net/lautism.htm

It may seem that L has Asperger's Syndrome.

His parents might have left him after noticing his autistic traits. (But it makes him so special!) Hmm. That's just my opinion since his background wasn't stated anywhere. We only know that Watari brought him into Wammy's house.
I just love the way the Authors wrote the whole story.

But we still love him, don't we?

Stop meow-ing, and stop joget-ing.

And let me show you this.

Its the National marching challenge trophy my team miraculously attained last year.

And its going to be returned in 2 months time, since its a challenge trophy.

________________________________________________________________

And today I found myself playing bat and cockroach.
I encountered with a flying cockroach who flew in my room from an unknown source. All I knew was it came in through the door seal.
It seriously flew centimeters above my head.
So I grabbed my faithful baseball bat (which I keep beside my bed in case of any bad guys to whack), and swing it recklessly. And somehow when it was only the first swing it managed to hit it - man down. man down. No, cockroach down.
It must have wanted to take revenge on me particularly because a few days back I was torturing and drowning one in the drain.

Hmmph. Its kinda strange how big organisms like us freak out when we see small organisms like that. Most probably because they suck. Big time. Its dirty and it smells, has a creepy shape and color, all those, you know. Its just something you hate.

Gonna set up some traps. Now.

Strauss.

The Strauss descendants from Austria-Germany must be quite a well known one.

Especially when it comes to music.

The first thing people think of is the Waltz king - Johann Strauss.

Not forgetting his whole family. Johann Strauss Senior. Eduard Strauss. Josef Strauss. Johann Strauss III.

Then that Oreo advertisement song comes into your mind. Tam tam da dang dang - ding ding. ding dingg. (sometimes sang by a cat's voice - miao miao. miao miao.)

you know. those 3 ballet girls trying to dip an oreo into milk but the cup isn't full enough so they pour two glasses into one to make it full.. Yes. That is the famaous waltz - On the Blue Danube.

You get addicted to that tune sometimes, although you don't even know what's the name of it and who composed it.

Just take 10 minutes to watch this. I was impressed. It sounds terrific.

I found a DVD on Wiener Orchestra - One of the world's finest and oldest. That's rather random to find something like that in my house. My dad is with his fixing stuff and my mum around her lady likings. No classical music lovers. Except me - and I did not purchase that DVD.

It just took one night for me to watch the Wiener Orchestra playing Strauss on the new year's concert 2000. And it lifted my spirits a little into the 'holiday' mood. (yes it going to end very soon.) Still, waltz has that happy tune to it. Grand, hmm.

Next time you feel down, try a Strauss waltz.

Chopin has some too. Some happy, but most of it - Emo. heh.

That Old Piano.

Today I get to play a Grand Piano. XD
But, Calista gets to play it everyday. Even her maid does. XXD

~took this quite sometime ago

Hmm.
I guess many of you watch Jay Chou's Secret.
But how many know what is the old piano's brand and type?

ahaha. I think I do.

~something rather similar.

Look, read carefully.
Its Ebony - not sure what wood is the one in the movie
Its Victorian Style.
It was made in the 19 century, but restored - see, it looks much newer.
Not too sure what model it was in the movie, probably a Model D.
But this is model C.
Most importantly, its a Steinway.

I bet Liszt played on it.

Poet of the Piano, Frederic Chopin - He deserves one romantic piano like that.

Inspiration is enough to give expression to the tone in singing, especially when the song is without words.~Franz Liszt

22nd October.

It was first announced that our year end exams would start on the 22nd October.
That time I was in add maths tuition when the teacher told us.

Wit Lyn said, ah crap. its my birthday and its the first day of exams.

I said, yeah, Jon Foreman's birthday as well.
Last year I found a floating giant air balloon cake which states, 'happy 30th birthday'.
I wanted to post that on a Switchfoot forum, when it was foreman's birthday.
And that time my computer was super lag and had some friggin problem with the internet connection. That does it.
Someone else found that picture too and post it a few minutes before mine was uploaded.
Well mine wasn't uploaded at all.
-page cannot be displayed.

Dangg.

Today I found out Franz Liszt was also born on 22nd october.

No wonder Jon Foreman came out so talented like Franz Liszt.
I bet Wit lyn too.

Chopin was born on 1 march.
Same month as my birthdate.
Only 10 days different, and a century and a couple of decades earlier than me.

No wonder I came out so untalented.
T_T

I've been addicted to La Campanella.
Only one thing, I will never ever be able to play it.

Something to brighten your day.
Victor Borge - Pianist, Comedian.
