Beautiful.
Bruce Branit - World Builder.
Seems like technology 40 years down the road - SketchUp/3D Studio Max would be as interactive and 'fun' like this. Life size. Awesome.
Anyway, state of the art, beautifully rendered video clip.
My mamma's beautiful too. Happy Birthday mamma~ and thanks for welcoming home and taking care of your sick child- a night's rest in my own home was enough to bring down the fever! =)

Long anime journey ends?
Last of the Last.
Prince of Tennis - the first anime I watched.
Manga ended last year, and this 2 eps aired late January 2009(and I only remembered this today XD).
Since 1999 to 2008! Can you believe it!
Just like 2 years ago, I did the exact same thing by posting PoT YouTube videos on this blog so I can load them all in one page X) I know, caused the page to take at least 5 minutes to load XD That was until I decided to buy the DVD's. And I got addicted. You know what that means, other than eating and sleeping, I was watching PoT for 2 weeks or so. Lol.
After that I depended entirely on YouTube for the OVA's which comes only once in a few months =/
You probably won't find it very interesting if you watch the final eps, but the first ep got me hooked on this series. That cocky, short and prodigious young boy who quickly defeated the upperclassmen in tennis caught my attention. Heh. Ryoma alright.(actually Ryoma reminds me of Fann: snarky, smart-ass, and damn adorable XDXD) Then came the other players from the school team, and then another couple more schools. It was always interesting to see them battle, from tournament to tournament! Rawr!
No forgetting their lifestyle and the variety of characteristics outside the tennis court, chibi episodes etc. I enjoyed it.
Soundtrack was uber catchy as well. I often listen to it while running the treadmill XD
Here's one of the Chibi Eps:
What have I watched so far?
Prince of Tennis (All seasons + OVA)
La Corda D'oro
Ouran High School Host Club
Nodame Cantabile
Piano no Mori
Piano: Melody of a Young Girl's Heart
Death Note
Vampire Knight
Paranoia Agent
Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning
5 Centimeters Per Second
Vampire Knight Guilty
Itazura Na Kiss
Nodame Cantabile Paris
Monster
In that order, about that.
If you have any recommendations, comment on this post.
Okie ciao.

Play me some Polka, Marches, Waltzes!
I didn't know my radio plays Strauss, too, on late nights, but only on New Year's Eve. Its permanently tuned in to one station so I roughly know the schedule. They don't play Strauss at night, only nocturnes and chamber music.
=) happy new year. Let's have a polka!
I read that Bush took the conductors baton and started conducting the orchestra, playing to the song 'Stars and Stripes Forever"

Have some comedy on New year's day:
Bush conducts US marine military band.
Does this shows the playful side of the tyrant, hoping everyone forgets reality?
Give him an orchestra and he'll get the troops swarming back to their families.
Or a fiddle=/
Sounds like Yeltsin. Hitler. Nero.
Nah. 20 days time we'll have Obama. He'll be playing basketball.
Hopefully this resolution will come true (usually, no.>.>) :
2009 I'll be
(Just 2009 will do. See how things go. 2008 was dead boring except for the SF concert and midnight adventure in Bugis. 2007 was much more excitingXD)

Fiction Family.
Fiction Family is Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek.
Switchfoot plays alternative rock.
Jon Foreman plays country.
Nickel Creek plays progressive bluegrass.
Sean Watkins plays folk.
So you can guess what colours they'll have for this collaboration.
Writing songs on the road during indvidual band tours and meet ups at home, San Diego county, California for a talk over a cup of coffee...
and tah-daa. We get Fiction Family.
I seem to like their sound very much.

A piano teacher.

And then I've been told to play the piano for a praise and worship session. This would be the first time I'll be playing for an adult worship leader, you see. Once in a while I'll play in the children church together with a few other teenage kids like me. We enjoy each other's company, playing music together. There will be a drummer, a keyboardist, a guitarist, a bassist, and a worship leader. Just like a 5 piece band.
On Wednesday, the worship leader Auntie Nancy she came to my house to rehearse. I've heard about her from my other friends in the adult worship team, that she is a perfectionist. Seriously, I was a bit reluctant to play with her. But since its for a new school my dad holds a share in, I would support him all the way. The principle is Auntie Ruth, the former Sunway College JB's principle. And she's a superwoman. Salutes!
Anyway, the 'terror' of piano lessons were revived. Auntie Nancy had to be one of the most musically talented people I've ever met. She doesn't only play classical and read notes, but she plays chords and improvisation amazingly well. I've learn about the relative chords all in the theory books and exam syllabus, but not playing it. One question on the inversion +augmented/diminished + add11/5b whatever, would take me at least 3 minutes to figure out on the paper. Let alone play it straightaway on the keys. Composers must have known all those pretty well in order to composed a well toned piece. Well auntie Nancy could do that. She read them and plays them straightaway without much effort.
I had learn solo guitar once, with a teacher. And I had to learn all these special chords that gives the tonal effect and 'feel' to a piece in order to play solo guitar. Of course it was all noisy and the teenage rage was in me. And yet I found it so hard to put it to practical sense. And I assumed that the guitar teacher thought I was a prodigy at notes and relative chords but the fact that it wasn't true and I couldn't comprehend half of what he was playing on the guitar, had me leaving the rock guitar music world. But I still have the admiration for those who can play solo guitar. Harmonics and special effects on the guitar that takes applies physics 'wave' principle. It was very cool, watching Dream Theatre doing all those special effects, while waiting for class to start. But its me who couldn't carry on with freaky chords. So there goes my electric guitar. I traded it in for a acoustic violin. =D Although I had bad experienced with stringed instruments, violin was probably better because I Only Read Notes. Maybe when I turn sixty, I would be qualified to play in a small orchestra.
Auntie Nancy was somebody who would placed your finger back on the correct key when you simply hit a note when you're not sure about it. Yes that's very me. She has perfect pitch. She could stand somewhere not looking at you and yet hear a flaw in a Complex Chord. Since I couldn't understand the complex chords, I had it all written down in notes. 5 notes in a chord. But not those far apart ones. I had forgotten so much of it that I even wrote sharps and flats on the right hand side of the note. It was a sweaty and tiring Wednesday night full of blurry notes for me. Thursday was full, from morning till late night, I didn't have time to practise. So I had a crashing time 30 minutes before the event on Friday. Practised over and over again until I got it right. Said a little prayer, and that's it.
Thank God I didn't screw up too badly. lol.
I know there were several bad chords played.
But only auntie Nancy knew. The crowd could not hear a flaw in it:/
For me, back to notes ♫ =D
Mercy is one of my friends that has the talent in understanding Chords.
I failed Grade 6. But hey, those who are young, start appreciating your lessons. Don't drop it. You'll regret not practicing happily enough and then start thinking, why aren't I talented enough like those prodigies? They might have that extra talent but I believe they play their instruments pretty often, enjoying what they do.

Umbrellas, Fauns. War, and Love.
YES. I have to stick to my holiday plans. I said I will watch Prince Caspian means I will.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.- Proverbs 10:25
Then again, I sat in the theatre with my family, watching Narnia just as 3 years ago (about the same season I failed my piano examXD, it just happen all at the same timeXXD) on a Saturday evening.
I got to thank them for a family day. How many parents sacrifice time to watch Narnia with their kids, huh?

I got to thank them for a family day. How many parents sacrifice time to watch Narnia with their kids, huh?

As expected, the movie was good.
The whole thing brought out the imagination of one reading the book itself.
I personally finished reading more than half of the collection, and it was always a war between good and evil, and issues that reflects a person's life.
But it just ain't any other adventure story in a child's imagination of umbrellas and fauns.
I believe C.S. Lewis wrote the story for a cause, and its up to one to decipher the meaning behind it.
Oh well, there's no Mr. Tumnus and his umbrella meeting Lucy Pevensie at the lamp post anymore. No world of War-Drobe anymore. Prince Caspian isn't as magical as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, since the first story was made to depict the Creation of a New Beginning.
But the characters were still as lovable as ever.
The actors had already grown up, 2 years older?

But Lucy still looks as adorable as the last movie=D (Although bigger and prettier)
She HAS got to be my favorite character.
Children are always so innocent and possess that child like faith which we tend to lose as we grow older and become more intellectual.

Edmund has grown.
lol. Looks pretty good now he's in his youth.
I can vividly remember that naughty boy who got into trouble in the previous movie.
But now all I can say is that he's character really matured.
He once used to tease Lucy and get into arguments with Peter.
But now I don't see any of those. That's what happen when you grow up Properly.

Susan is bigger too! She does look more matured.
And I just love the way she takes care of her younger sister. It's so heartwarming to see her get down the horse and fight the bad guys. That, is really valiant.
She has got to be the next Legolas (from LotR)!!!
Her aims with the bow and arrow are flawless.
I mean FLAWLESS.
But of course, she's a girl, and her Prince ought to save her, that would be Caspian of course=D

And then High King Peter.
He looks pretty much the same to me, yeah, maybe more towards a grown up man. lol.
He gets into frequent argues with Caspian an all that, its pretty expected though, both being hardheadedXD
What I admire most is his courage to get along with the one on one fight with evil king Miraz.
Come on, all of them are still kids. Who would risk their life in a challenge like that, now? What will tomorrow be like if I'm gone? What will happen back home?
Peter just answered, 'leave the questions for later.' and continue head-on with Miraz.
That, is courage.

Prince Caspian.
Looking good. =D
He did forgive Miraz who killed his father, after stopping himself from killing him
yeah but nasty Telmarine soldiers killed the king themselves and charge towards the Narnians.
Nasty Telmarines, yes, a part of the human race. These group of people they they lie, they cheat, they steal.
And Prince Caspian has to gain back his rightful throne and put things back to how it was.

And then there's Aslan(with Lucy). The big, great, talking Lion.
Gotta love him. Period.
(His great lion roar is in a really big magnitude. Just watch the semi-circular waves propagating in the light blue-green river watersXD)
I wanna hug a lion too!
And the other good characters were amazingly portrayed, too.
Dr. Cornelius, Caspian's teacher.
Trumpkin, the dwarf.
Glenstorm, the centaur.
Asterius, the minotaur.
Trufflehunter, the badger.
(and everyone's favorite)
Reepicheep, the valiant mouse.

"you humans have NO imagination."
lol. The mice were seriously strong in battle.
The villains were villainy.
The situation was messy.
It certainly was not an easy task for 4 young humans and animals and creatures to bring them villains down.
The bad guys had a really big army of troops.
The film in itself often a reminiscent of LotR, but the major difference is being in a childlike simplicity, this one retains.
You might think this is a child's thing.
But,
Just try to put yourself into their shoe, what will you have done then?
I don't know how many of us will actually accept the new place and do whatever it takes since you're the only one who can put in effort to change the whole big situation upside down.
I'm talking about risking your life and fighting in a battle against huge men and machines.
While actually, you're only a young student, taking a break from school.
Who's in?
Soundtrack version. This is Home.

Rubik & me & my stupid cube.
Oh wow. It's the last day of the school term.
And I had a terrible migraine from morning.
I'm tired. Really.
And Chem 1 would be another paper I slept on >.>
Thank God for Pocky and the whole family of it.
It makes me a tad better.

A small packet in the box had only 6 sticks>.>
2 went into my stomach.
The other 4 sticks, to 4 of my friends.
(sorry Florence. Next time you wait for my Hello Panda, K. =D)
I WANTED TO WATCH NARNIA. BADLY.
I have my various reasons for wanting to watch it that much.
Then the people I was suppose to go out with, HAD to be free only on the second Wednesday during the holidays.
Grrrr.
And then I had a few titles on my list to watch on DVD:
Amazing Grace
Bella
Mozart and the Whale
Spiderman 3
Seabiscuit
(stop ranting about the not-so-interesting titles, its just something I decided to watchXD)
So I went to holiday plaza with my mum who wanted to buy a birthday gift for her friend.
There was so many pirated media shops.
But I had no luck in finding those titles.
Oh, crapp.
Anyway, Switchfoot Podcast 33 was out a few days ago.
And Tim Foreman was doing a Rubik's Cube at the end of it.
Podacst 33.
And then today my friend Eunice brought 2 cubes to school.
Although she's not pro, but even being able to solve one side is cool enough for me.
Some freaks solve it in 5 to 10 secs, where the whole cube spins and flicks like. an electron? lol
Yes there's formulas for it.
But I wonder how many of them actually discover the whole solution by themselves, eh.
I always thought it should be solved like that, that's why I have one lying in my house for ... 7 years, maybe?
Lol who knows.
All I know its a cheap piece of plastic that jams up everytime I wanna turn it.
Probably bought from a highway shop, when I got bored during a long car ride.
And popularized by some EC guys.
you find them smuggling time to flick and turn one in Classes.
Yes classes like Physics and Add Maths.
Add maths had to be harder than solving that 'common' puzzle, I guess.
But for science one peeps, maybe not.
They score near perfect marks for add maths in every exam. >.>
And then YouTube. Heaps and mountains of people who can solve it like Robots.
Even Better than a Robot made to solve the cube.
This just proved to me that millions and billions of people out there can solve that puzzle.
And I just had to be Not one of them.
So this was the first activity I did in this holidays.

I told you it was a cheap plastic cube.
And I had a terrible migraine from morning.

Ain't Hardcore yet, eh?

I'm 55.18672% dedicated.
Are You A Hardcore Switchfoot Fan? Test
GOSH. Kononnya I'm only 55.18672% hardcore.
Just enough to qualify for the 'FAMily' group.
The quiz was uber HARD>.< Scored less than my 3 sciences in the last school test. LOL. Ain't hardcore yet. But then again, how hardcore can you be when in Malaysia? Even Oh! Gravity isn't in JB stores yet (??!!!, right?). I had to go all the way to KL to get it, what more of EP's and Singles and rare stuff, huh?
Being a fan in Malaysia, Sad.
But at least I got Timmy's picture up there <3

Still, haven't got enough of it yet.
If Gabrielle Chou can play Mozart's K545 so well at 8.
This is Aimi Kobayshi at 4, playing Clementi's sonatina.
Sounds very good, eh? Techniques like that is already supreme at her 2nd year learning how to play the piano.
As good as Kit Armstrong.
Prodigies. We can't stop being amazed by them.
Well, I'm definitely very far from being one, but by seeing them play well, just turned the 'piano sucks' attitude a whole 180 degrees for me. =)

Switchfoot Makes the Best Music.
I feel like disintegrating.
Yes, I went for the Singapore show yesterday. For free standing, its 90SD. The KL show is only RM115. Heh. Maybe the KL place isn't that good, or maybe its just - Malaysia.
Who cares. It was worth a watch.
Here goes. I left school after Interact Meeting around 3.20pm.
Boarded a bus to City Square, crossed over to the custom immigration. (as usual we don't need a passport, the people there don't give a damn if you don't have one).
Got on a causeway link bus to Queen Street. Quite a long ride - 40 minutes.
Bases on my instincts, I manage to walk straight to the Bugis MRT station. heh.
Interchanged at Tanah Merah, and finally... EXPO!
I walked to the end where it was the Max Pavilion. not really near though.
It was 5.15pm, there were already some people there. Some from the WMUM section.
In the 90 buck ticket I think I was the 10th to be in the line.
Then i heard them Sound Checking! They played Lonely Nation. heh. Free music.
I sat there and waited for my cousin and her friend but they came much later, that made me come out from the line because I the ticket was with them.
We took a picture with the banner on the grass before we entered the line.

We lined up outside until 7.50pm. Singapore time - Real time plus 40 minutes. lol
Then they let us in. The security made a brief check on our bags - and they made me throw my drink I bought earlier on. =_="
Well so we went in, wasn't the concert hall straight away though. They were selling T-shirts and some cards and stickers. We wanted to get a shirt then, but it was quite a queue, and decided that these could be bought online so we ran in the concert hall.
People were all over the front. We were about 7 rows to the front.
I was somewhere to the side, where Jerome will be standing later because the synths are there.
We waited.. and waited.. until about 8.10 and the MC came in and announce the never ending list of sponsors. And then the local band - the fire fights played an opening act. The songs were like so head banging. The bass was blasting that make peoples heart beats follow their beat. I could feel the pumping wind on my feet because the bass amps were 2 meters away from me.
Their composed music, I can say, good, but not my liking. Nobody actually dance to their music when they lose themselves on stage. Especially when you're expecting Switchfoot soon. The same went for West Grand Boulevard, only that their songs is not so head banging when compared to the earlier band.
After the opening band the MC came out again and say thanks to the same list of sponsors. Again. Which really got on our nerves. lol.
Then a few sound man who works with Switchfoot came out and fix their instruments. I kinda recognized their guitars... looks familiar in podcast and music videos.
.... the lights dimmed, people screamed.
They banner was let down, it was the Oh! gravity. background!
And then... I saw Drew, Jerome, Chad, Tim... and Jon!!!!!!! LIVE!!!!
Drew had a new haircut, I think. Tim had cute hair. Chad and Jerome's was about the same, Jon had golden hair, flowing! hahahahah... it was a dream to see them live.
Jerome was infront of my standing place. Drew was nearby. Jon was obviously in the middle. Damn I wanna be in da middle. damn. you'll know why very soon.
Not to say something flashy, but I felt like Jerome was looking at me. ROFL. I think he's just looking over to my group of people. ahah.
Okay the opening...
they played the Meant to Live intro, which made the crowd wanna continue with that hardcore song, then they suddenly switched to Oh! Gravity. What a surprise!
The list of songs played:
1 Oh! Gravity.
2 Stars
3 This is your life
4 Ammunition
5 We are one tonight
6 The shadow proves the sunshine
7 Only hope
8 Learning to breathe
9 Chem 6A
10 Gone
11 American Dream
12 Dirty Second Hands
13 On Fire
14 Awakening
15 Meant to Live
16 Twenty-Four
17 Dare you to move
P.S. Bad quality video and audio. Reason: bad camera, which is my W810i, people and me as well, jumping and waving hands, and plus the big amplitude of screaming, might not be able to hear Jon's voice well because we were singing along!
They entered the stage and everyone started screaming. They played the into of meant to live knowing that the crowd will expect the song, th switched to Oh! Gravity. right after the intro! Cool guys.
Then they played Stars. The song that hit the billboard.
And then - This is your life. Jon, apparently he ate his guitar, if you know what i'm talking about. So far I only saw one pro guitarist did that, on a specialised DVD. But Jon! COOL!
And then he went down the stage, went to the middle of the front crowd and touch them, just like he always does. Unfortunately I wasn't in the middle, I was at Jerome's side.
My cousin said he took someone's cam and took himself. kuso...
Ammunition. That catchy song from Learning to Breathe.
We Are One Tonight, The shadow proves the sunshine. GREAT SONGS from Nothing is Sound.
Only Hope!!!!! Learning to Breathe!!!!! These two sound good played side by side after one another.
Chem 6A. The song that was stuck in my head during the exam period. teehee. From the album Legend of Chin.
Beyonce's Crazy in Love Intro!!! They did the cover of this song in pepso smash, but didn't think they'll do it live!!! Guess what the intro fits nicely as they come in playing Gone!
American Dream split into 3 videos - sorry about that, I was confused by the super cool American Dream Freeze Pose! It was like more than a minute they stood like that, not moving at all!

Dirty Second Hands - From my angle I could completely see how Jerome does all the effects of this song!
On Fire, was sang so melancholic-ly. Everyone was singing along - I guess the fans' voices kinda cover Jon's. heh. Jon played Harmonica well!
AWAKENING. ROCks.
Meant to Live rocked the house. The song that we thought is going to be played in the beginning happened to be one of the last! After this song they went in. LOL. Expected to come out.
Twenty- Four and DARE YOU TO MOVE!!!!
Twenty four was in acoustic, rather melancholic again, then DARE YOU TO MOVE IN ACOUSTIC!!!
Jon played on his own until the rest came in the scond verse!!! Terrific combination.
The whole audience was singing along.
The last part of dare you to move.
Notice at the end of the video Drew and Jerome came and throw something. Yeah I was blur enough to not know what they threw. I search for awhile and then stop. And then pick up someone's button badge. Then the girl infront on me said "I GOT IT YESS" I ask her did she get a button badge, she opened her palm and there it was - THE CONCERT GUITAR PICK THE USED. I felt like Disintegrating straight away. It was Black, and had SWITCHFOOT on it in white and some kinda picture down there in the pick. Oh Damn. Only if I was more of a detailed person. I bet Jerome threw the pick right at me - LMAO. It was definitely around, but the chance was just snatched away. Just imagine me like a balloon deflating. That was a feeling of TRUE FRUSTRATION at that point in my life.
Good, now I learned something to improve myself on - Don't let any chances go by just like that, grab it that very second and do it detailedly and don't give up until you get what you want... ahh damn that concert guitar pick.
The sound was good, the combination of songs were good, Jon sang well, the band played well, and most importantly they put on a really good show, not flashy. KL, get ready for a good show tomorrow.
So that's it. I saw them live already. It was time to go. Caught the last MRT, last bus to JB, and last chinese taxi to Kolam Ayer and lie in bed at 1.30am. Didn't sleep until 2+am. My mind was too active, and that frustrated feeling on myself.
But this is definitely my dream come true. Dreamed four years back. Comeback sometime again, Switchfoot. I miss your live music already.
Yesterday night was massive, and something I will never ever forget. Never.
After waiting for like 4 years (really love them since 2004) finally a random email came to my mailbox - Switchfoot arriving at the Pacific rim.
I was dumbfounded by that email, somehow feeling that Switchfoot will NEVER come to this area. But somehow as time passes, they covered more areas around the world, to Canada, to Australia, to UK, to Philippines (this one really struck me because it was SO near to Malaysia), and then finally to my place. Not JB of course, because JB kinda sucks. To Singapore, and KL. Although I really wanted to go for the KL show (ticket is much cheaper), but of course I can't. Singapore is much nearer.

22nd October.
It was first announced that our year end exams would start on the 22nd October.
That time I was in add maths tuition when the teacher told us.
Wit Lyn said, ah crap. its my birthday and its the first day of exams.
I said, yeah, Jon Foreman's birthday as well.
Last year I found a floating giant air balloon cake which states, 'happy 30th birthday'.
I wanted to post that on a Switchfoot forum, when it was foreman's birthday.
And that time my computer was super lag and had some friggin problem with the internet connection. That does it.
Someone else found that picture too and post it a few minutes before mine was uploaded.
Well mine wasn't uploaded at all.
-page cannot be displayed.
Dangg.
Today I found out Franz Liszt was also born on 22nd october.
No wonder Jon Foreman came out so talented like Franz Liszt.
I bet Wit lyn too.
Chopin was born on 1 march.
Same month as my birthdate.
Only 10 days different, and a century and a couple of decades earlier than me.
No wonder I came out so untalented.
T_T
I've been addicted to La Campanella.
Only one thing, I will never ever be able to play it.
Something to brighten your day.

Fast and Smooth.
I found myself on YouTube searching for videos of Child Prodigies for Piano.
Got addicted.
These children are really good. Not only good. They're virtuoso.
!. Gabrielle Chou, 8 year old
2. Shaun Hern Lee, 4 year old
3. Kit Armstrong, 10
4. Zhang Sheng Liang, 10
I wonder what was I doing when I was young.
Doing stuff that wasn't useful I guess.
These people are so young.
Makes me feel like a total loser. Arrrgh.
That four year old kid, composed a song when he was 2 and a half.
I guess many were just starting to sing ABC's.
Read notes?
nay.
These type of people existed since a long time ago.
Like Chopin.
This 15 year old guy, Kit Armstrong,
okay. Genius. Fullstop.
He plays piano.
Composed almost 50 pieces for piano and strings.
Performed more than 100 times.
Speaks 6 languages.
Went to high school and university, part time, when he was 7.
Rears Chickens, whose names are Elements in the Periodic Table.
Does good origami.
Plays tennis, skiing, biking.
Juggles in his free time.
At the same time, study the model model trajectories of balls as they are juggled in various patterns with mathematica.
Design almost 20 computer games.
Attended 7 universities.
Sometime you start to wonder, why aren't I like one of them?
because you were made like that.
Do do something else, not to do what geniuses does.

Are you being yourself?
Or are you trying to be something else?
Because if it is, it sucks.
