Long anime journey ends?
Last of the Last.
Prince of Tennis - the first anime I watched.
Manga ended last year, and this 2 eps aired late January 2009(and I only remembered this today XD).
Since 1999 to 2008! Can you believe it!
Just like 2 years ago, I did the exact same thing by posting PoT YouTube videos on this blog so I can load them all in one page X) I know, caused the page to take at least 5 minutes to load XD That was until I decided to buy the DVD's. And I got addicted. You know what that means, other than eating and sleeping, I was watching PoT for 2 weeks or so. Lol.
After that I depended entirely on YouTube for the OVA's which comes only once in a few months =/
You probably won't find it very interesting if you watch the final eps, but the first ep got me hooked on this series. That cocky, short and prodigious young boy who quickly defeated the upperclassmen in tennis caught my attention. Heh. Ryoma alright.(actually Ryoma reminds me of Fann: snarky, smart-ass, and damn adorable XDXD) Then came the other players from the school team, and then another couple more schools. It was always interesting to see them battle, from tournament to tournament! Rawr!
No forgetting their lifestyle and the variety of characteristics outside the tennis court, chibi episodes etc. I enjoyed it.
Soundtrack was uber catchy as well. I often listen to it while running the treadmill XD
Here's one of the Chibi Eps:
What have I watched so far?
Prince of Tennis (All seasons + OVA)
La Corda D'oro
Ouran High School Host Club
Nodame Cantabile
Piano no Mori
Piano: Melody of a Young Girl's Heart
Death Note
Vampire Knight
Paranoia Agent
Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning
5 Centimeters Per Second
Vampire Knight Guilty
Itazura Na Kiss
Nodame Cantabile Paris
Monster
In that order, about that.
If you have any recommendations, comment on this post.
Okie ciao.

Monster. -Spoiler Ahead.

I'm a professional Tip-Toeist. Hah.
Practically, I've been sneaking out of my room at the darkest, quietest, hours of the night to the lower floor, reaching out into my father's working bag in total darkness to get the mobile modem. Literally speaking, its like the Chinese Idiom sayings, 'When you reach out your hands you don't see your five fingers'.
You may call me crazy, but I've been doing that for the past two weeks. My sleep times are haywire. I feel like junk in the day, so I prefer doing nothing but sleeping in daylight; except days which make me wake up earlier than usual for some rare activities. Rare, I have nothing to do at home except for eating junk and chocolate, pianoing, and animeing. Some reading perhaps. I read more wiki than books by the way - world without borders, I can find out something instantly with a blink of an eye with just a few finger acrobatics.
Anyway, sleeping at 9pm and waking at 2am is an example how I spent my last two weeks. I get all the bandwidth to myself at those hours while my neighbours spend theirs in dreamland. Hah! That, means I can stream all the videos I want. It loads at up to 200kb/s. So I have no problem of slow YouTube; unlike during daytime it takes 3 hours to load a 20 minutes episode - I'd rather spend those hours in bed, sleeping.
Another Psychological Thriller.
The previous ones I watched were Death Note and Paranoia Agent.
I would say Monster had 'some' similarities with Death Note - but I can't compare both downrightly, it would be like comparing an apple to an orange.
Nonetheless both had protagonist that ventured on a killing spree.
Death Note was like a board game - I give you the rules, you play it, and another would figure out the rules and how you would play the game.
On the other hand Monster was written by Naoki Urusawa, based on real-life mysterious, psychological murder cases in 20th century Europe, mainly Germany.
Not only focusing on murder cases, it revolved around Experiments and Eugenics, human behaviour when put in different situations, strong willed characters, and how a 'Monster' was created. Some philosophical moments there could probably strike up some of your deepest thoughts and questions. Monster gets down to the depths of humanity while portraying white, black, and gray within humanity's painting.
No shinigami involved.
What a profound one.
I wonder why, its always the Japanese that comes up with all these interesting (intellectual, weird, useful, humourous) ideas?
Ah. I'm always annoyed by Stephen King style of ending. The open kind which leaves the reader thinking, without complete explanation of some events that happened throughout the plot. Monster was one of those. It was a good ending for the anime nonetheless, but I could use some explanation though. Things just DO NOT end easily and happily like Itazura na Kiss. There were many question marks that made me read all the forums for a proper explanation and what possibly could happen afterwards.
Anyway, there I was, lying in bed at 3am with the lights off , only with a laptop in front of me. Since the screen was brightly litted in the dark room, the background behind the screen was pitched black. Blinding lights in the dark. But I had no time for imagination, my eyes were fixed onto the computer screen for long hours until the sun decides to rise. The suspense can kill. It makes your eyes stay open and load a few more episodes even though you're on the line between dreamland and reality. There were many gunshots heard but it doesn't turn out the way you anticipate, and the truth revealed later on.
Johan The Psychopath. He and his twin sister are the products of the experiment. They're both intellects, the only difference is that the girl is a normal, admirable, and steadfast; on the other hand Johan is a sociopath that kills without second thought. The only people he spares is his sister, and Dr Tenma who saved his life after the gunshot in the head.
Okay, most people would think he's the 'Monster' in the story, as he goes around killing people using his 'disciples'. I mean, its clear that he's the monster; but according to him he wasn't 'born' to be a monster. It came from outside. The actual story of his life is still unclear, as it wasn't stated. Putting random opinions together, this is what I can conclude: The mothers' hate for the man and his team who conducted the experiment and killed her husband brewed while she was pregnant with the twins. After the twins were born Johan saw how things was among his mother and those people, and probably the monster grew within him. After the sister's return from the genocide experience, she told everything to Johan and he took it as his own experience, thus the monster 'grew' again. From then on he went to an orphanage which also played around on human experiment. There he ended the organization by 'adding oil to fire'. Everyone in the orphanage killed each other whilst Johan sat on a chair viewing the drama. And then Johan continues his orchestration of multiple homicides, although at a tender age. Oh wait, he dosn't only kill or make people kill, he psyches people into comitting suicide. The length to which he goes to torment those around him is absolutely sadistic and few characters can match his calm demeanor that leaves the viewer unnerved because of his mastery over the basic concept of fear and how to inspire it in others. Or rather, he was the personification of the devil himself=/ It wasn't Johan who experienced all the tests at Red Rose Mansion, but his sister Nina. So who can explain how exactly Johan was turned into the Monster he had become? Perhaps he IS actually the Antichrist, and there was nothing in this world that corrupted him. He was corrupted from the beginning. Note the fact that Johan can not die. What reason could this be? He was shot in the head twice, yet saved both times.
Was he the victim of the monster that contained him, or the Monster itself?
Or he just wanted to find out his real name, and who his mother really love when she was force to give up one of the twin the the experiment?
That's a question.
Tenma is one admirable man. If the world was filled with these sort of people perhaps no war would ever happen. Give Tenma a Nobel prize! =D The last part where Johan, much older now, was shot by a drunkard who did it in order to protect his son from getting shot by Johan was one part where it really messes up people's emotion. Tenma went this far to kill Johan, and now he has the power to give him another chance to live - by performing a surgery on Johan, again. How ironic. Maybe Tenma operated in the end because he realized that even Johan could never truly relinquish his humanity, as hard as he may have tried. Ultimately, he was more or less the same as everyone else, just that his reactions weren't.
I can't help but feel sad for Mr. Grimmer when he finally died helping out the folks in Ruhenheim in Johan's 'perfect suicide' plan. Grimmer, you read, but ironically his face does not reflect his name. I was anticipating for this character to appear, thinking that it will be a nasty hunch-back old notredame, a creepy one. But the character turned out to be in a stark contrast with my imagination of Mr. Grimmer. Instead he was a tall guy, with a big sling bag (very similar to a bolster found on beds with a strap attached to the both ends) on his shoulder, with a cheerful smile as broad as a Nike swoosh and has a cheerful personality himself.
*quote wiki* A freelance journalist who is researching Kinderheim 511, he is also soon drawn into the search for Johan, as he decides to help Tenma. He nearly always has a big smile on his face. As a former subject in Kinderheim 511, he had seemingly developed another personality: an aggressive fighter that comes out and protects him whenever he is under dire stress, inspired by his childhood adoration for an Incredible Hulk-type TV character whom he refers to as the Magnificent Steiner. He also received training as a spy after his time in Kinderheim 511. Due to this conditioning, he admits he is not good at expressing emotions, however he is finally able to do so when one of his child friends nearly goes off onto the same road as Johan, and when he is mortally wounded during the massacre at Ruhenheim. At the moment of his death, he confides to Tenma that he simply gave in to his anger, allowing for the disturbing possibility that his "alternate ego" was simply the psychological filter he used to justify his violent acts.*
Magnificent Steiner! =D

Actually I felt like Mr. Grimmer in the beginning when he appeared. He was into this stranger who told him a sad story about his family members being in hospital and needed money. He showed concern and gave some money. And the stranger ran away with the money. A guy nearby saw it, and told Mr Grimmer he was tricked. "I was tricked?" he said, with a very cheerful-confused face. Hah. Like how my cell phone was con off the other day. Despite that Mr Grimmer still shows compassion to people like that, especially children on the street that get bullied. Ah, my best loved character!
You may think that this anime is lacking in the graphics and animation sector, but don't let it stop you from watching it. It is one spellbinding, epic anime of the century. I watched the first episode one and a half year ago, while I was still in training. Clearly I didn't had time for things like this, furthermore the drawings of the people and the hospital life in the first part didn't really attract my attention at first. While the graphics in the beginning may seem dull, I realized that it was one of the anime with more realistic drawings compared to the big-eye and exaggerating movements in the other typical anime genre. But what caught my attention was the beautiful backgrounds - the real life cities in Germany, Czech(Prague) and France(Nice). The characters appearances changes according to the time line, even their hair grows longer. Dr. Tenma grew older - and from a reputable Neurosurgeon look, after all the fatigue and insomnia from the hunt of the monster he once revived, he got that fugitive, unshaven beard, shaggy hair, and panda-eye look. But he is an honourable character I admire, along with Nina and Dieter.
It's a good one. Brilliant storytelling; it really, really deserves some accolades.
Also it's pretty
Anyway, here's a brief synopsis and a review (not my own), so you might want to consider writing this in your anime list:
Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a brilliant surgeon had just finished a successful operation when he encounters a distraught Turkish woman in the hallways. Upon seeing him, she demanded to know why he neglected to care for her son who had arrived first and instead, cared for a public official who arrived later. Conscience-stricken by hospital politics, Dr. Tenma vowed to be as fair as he possibly can. So when a boy with gunshot wounds comes in, followed by a VIP, Dr. Tenma operated on the boy, who survives, while the VIP dies. This decision would cost Dr. Tenma his promotion as he fell out of the Director’s graces, but soon after, the Director and the new Head Surgeon were found poisoned and all of the circumstantial evidence points to Dr. Tenma. Cast out as a fugitive, Dr. Tenma struggles to hunt down the real killer while evading capture from the law.
The first episode takes you into a moral quandary right away and the series begins asking a series of tough questions about fairness before probing deeper into the core of the human psyche. Part of what makes Monster so appealing is finding out an answer to the show’s basic premise of whether a monster lurks in every one of us. While the series answers that question through many different scenarios, not all of the resolutions will leave you comfortable. But because that’s what it was aiming for to begin with, Monster is able to engage its audience and deliver an unforgettable experience.
Its questions on morality and ethics only serve to complement Monster’s intricate plot which boasts some of the best storytelling that I’ve seen. The story’s scope stretches beyond the mystery and suspense, and to say that the plot is competently executed is an understatement. Every story arc is brilliantly done to the point that it left me with a deep impression, and even now, I can recall even the most minor arcs with a surprising amount of clarity. That is where this series shines: there’s never a dull moment. The pacing is as perfect as it can be and every minute of it keeps you enthralled. To put it simply, Monster’s story flows excellently from beginning to end and ties it all together into a complete package without a single episode anywhere close to being wasted.

Vampire Knight, not Twilight.

I'm fond of Thursdays because its the day of the week I get my dose of subtitled VK episode.
Sometimes I can't wait, so I watch the unsubbed ones on late Tuesdays. They air it live in Japan on Monday. Late night Monday.
Pity, the manga comes out one chapter per month.
The first season anime aired from April to July 2008; second season from October to December.
So you see, it was a long and terrible wait for this series. I mean, all new series are like this, but I watch the slightly older ones, so it normally finishes within a week (except PoT, not the OVA's. OVA's takes months for one Ep>.>).
And since today is the last episode of the second season anime, with no news concerning the third season, I'm having a post about it =)
I'm jealous of the Japs. They have a wide spectrum of imaginations. Creative, interesting ones that others want to know more about.
April 2008, I saw these pretty school uniform suits that the characters wore in some unknown anime. I checked it out, it was Vampire Knight alright. I can't help but staring at the suits. It looks soooo good on both the female and male characters.
That's how I got hooked, actually.
Oh yeah, can't deny the drawing for the whole thing was good, put aside the suits.
The story started off with a little girl, about 5, named Yuuki Cross, alone in the snow. One level E vampire was about to attack her, but a pure blood vampire (Kaname Kuran) saved her from the attack. Yuuki is then brought to Cross Kaien, Headmaster of Cross Academy, to be taken care of. She has no memories before the age of 5, and that was her earliest memories.
The hierachy of vampire class goes like this:
Pure Blood > Noble Blood > Normal (C) Class > D (Ex-Human) Class > End (E) Class
There's a whole lot of history to it, and some rules and taboos in their world.
Anyway, the scene switches to a school scene, 10 years later, Yuuki now grown up and together with another friend, long childhood friend, Kiryuu Zero, they are Guardians of the Academy. The academy has 2 sessions; the day class and the night class. The day class are human students, and the night class are vampires (Day class in black uniforms, Night class in white). During the evening, the transition between the day class and night class occurs as they share the same bridge to the dorms. Vampires happen to be very beautiful in looks, and the day class students go extremely crazy about them. The Guardians (supposedly disciplinary committee) which is Yuuki and Zero, they control the students from swarming to the night class. On the surface, a Guardian's duty is to enforce the peace by keeping interaction between the Day and Night class at a minimum. The true role of a Guardian is to protect the Academy's secret: what the human students of the Day Class don't realize is that the Night Class is made up of vampires.
In the world of VK, vampires and humans have been waging a war against one another since ancient times. Aside from hunters, the average person isn't aware of the existence of vampires, and there are some who want to keep it that way and have vampires and humans co-exist peacefully. One of these people is Headmaster Cross, and with the help of Kuran Kaname, one of the few pure blooded vampires and the one who saved Yuki's life all those years ago, the Night Class was created with the hopes that a group of young vampire nobles can learn how to bridge the gap between the two species.
The story is exciting, revealing secrets of the past, and the characters own background and family itself.
If you want to see action, there is. Cool ones. Kaname is so far the most powerful one (aside from already dead Rido Kuran) being able to shoot holes in treebarks, breaking glass, uprooting trees and damaging tiles, making people vanish like fireworks, appear and dissapear as he wishes - just by his mind. The nobles have individual powers.
Initially I thought it was another school girl, shojo manga with some flashy vamps.
Turned out to be so much darker than I thought it ought to be.
*SPOILER*
1. Zero's Bloody Rose 'evolve' and grew thorns all around his body in the battle with Rido. (In the manga, the illustration was much more dramatic that the anime. It even reapt off Kaname's hand; but no worries he's a pure blood. He can regenerate 10 pairs if he wanted to>.>) Yuuki's Artemis became cooler, after the became a vamp she could still use an anti-vampire weapon. Now how cool is thatXD
2. In the end of VK guilty, after Yuuki bit Zero (for the first time)(no forcing involved) before they go on seperate ways, he said to her, "The next time I see you with Kaname, I'll kill you (and of course Kaname, wanting to destroy all pure bloods); so you better run as fast as possible, away from me. " What a touching line. XD
Exciting stuff.
Give this one a shot, it's a good one to keep you on your toes.

Final Days.
I've been doing nothing lately.
I NEED to get a Book >.>
Christmas this year was simple, with a Christmas eve dinner meeting some of my school mates and friends.
Christmas day itself was my first driving lesson! My teacher was asking me whether I have driven before, no. Driven a car at the arcade, no. Actually yes, without a token in the machine. Driven a bumper car, yes. ahah. I was happily driving around the circuit at slow speedXD Parking part was the worse, because they used the formulas in order to pass the JPJ test. But every time my parents parked a car, I used my instincts to park the car although I'm not in the driver's seat.XD.
When is car number plate JUL 14 coming out? I'm booking it 8).
Nobody wants number 14 right? I'm not the superstitious one so I can have it for myself XD
My relatives from Malacca was already in my house when I reached home that Thursday.
At night we went to a friend's place to have dinner. They were rich people alright. The catered a big dinner with lambs and a turkey at a nice and big cluster style house, but that, its not my taste for my future house=D
Nowadays I don't get jealous over people that own big houses with plasma TV's every nook and corner of the house.
Either I'll live in a cosy small house/wooden cabin by a countryside or a big one with a long window at the front, up to the top with the least furnitures around. Big halls. =D
This Christmas I received less presents, oh yes the numbers of presents I received are decreasing by the years, at least this year I get chocolates=D My dad asked me what I wanted, but I had nothing in mind. Resulting in zero presents from my parents. But yet I wasn't disappointed. I wanted a camera though, because my phone's camera wasn't functioning since midyear. Ah that phone has caught the HIV. The systems are slowly shutting down. Once in a while it revives when it gets an immunity jab. But I still can make calls and send messages most of the time so I hope it stays like that till I get a free phone from Singapore. Why should i waste parents' hard earned money on a new phone when I could get a new phone somewhere next year?=) My dad has 3 functioning cameras. One pocket Panasonic Lumix which he uses for work, one Nikon D90 (it's a pretty DSLR, shoots really fast and beautiful stuff =/) and a Konica Minolta amateur camera. I used the Konica Minolta for awhile, but it's kinda slow. It saves the previous picture too slowly thus making you miss the moment you want to capture. Kills my intention of doing photography with my dad these holidays =S And a new camera for Christmas wouldn't be such a good idea.
Russ is still missing.
25th December marks the second week.
Oh yeah and Apple flooded my inbox with TONS of Advertising emails this season. They wanted people to get their products as Christmas presents. Apple and their money making workaholics. Marketing. Same goes to every producing and manufacturing companies LAH. Money making bastards exploiting the good ol' season. Blatant commercialisation X(
iPhone doesn't have a front camera, YET. Boo.
Its been a month since the last paper but I have done nothing productive. Seems like I haven't touch books in a century. Not even a story book/magazine/newpaper. Feels like knowledge is draining from my head.
Watched anime though=D
Finished Itazura na Kiss, and Nodame Cantabile Paris. teehee.

Itazura na Kiss was stupid at the beginning but things gets really cool when it reaches the hospital scenesXD Irie Naoki's a high IQ genius guy who is cold blooded, which made things better, and it was worth a laugh. Kotoko the girl with a lower IQ went through lots to get her dream realized. And... YUUKI! I love that little mischievous plumb boy who grew up to be such an understanding teenager =D Anyway, the aimless genius became a pretty good doctor. The nurses were all head over heels for him. Kotoko still looks like a high schooler after so many years.
Nodame Cantabile Paris was yet another detailed one, with fantastic music again. Nodame was funny as ever, same goes to Chiaki with that shocked look on his face every time something unexpected happens XD And new friends from Paris!

gyabo! mukya! boheh!
Still reading its manga. Their stories never fail to amuse me =D
I'm still in the midst of watching the Taiwanese Drama, It started with a kiss, the real live drama of Itazura na Kiss manga. Its quite old already, but since I have no new movies to watch, its the only one at home that Cal lend me. Actually, I wanted Corner with Love but she handed me that instead since it wasn't with her that time=/
So I had to finish Corner with Love on YouTube. Nice story=)
It started with a kiss, was so-so. Don't really enjoy it though. But I like the little boy who acted as Yushu. It looks exactly like Yuuki in the anime! And Zhishu's studio apartmentXD Cosy=D
Today, I had my fun at Hutan Bandar. Its been ages since I went there.
Went there with my 2 baby cousins, but my mum and I ended up trying out all the adult's playground and obstacle courses and the foot reflexology XD
It look me some courage to try out the monkey bars. Boy it was pretty high up. Now both my hands have blisters due to holding those bars. Its the same kind of blisters you get when carrying a stretcher with one hand with another 3 persons, of course with someone heavy lying in it. There was some art exhibition there too.
And then I had an unexpected lunch treat from Teacher Hui kee.
It was the Children Church worship team gathering and farewell for Joanne who's leaving tomorrow for NS! Gambate! I hope NS trainees will get to play monkey bars and obstacle courses as well=)
Yesterday I dreamt about Solid Coloured Sofas and Beanbags, purple, yellow, green and blue. Pouffe style. Maybe I should realized it and maybe the Ikea would accept the idea in my night time dream. Lol.
Seeing my little cousins growing up to Jon driving me home with Ben a teenager and Naomi going on to form 4, these scenes always make me wonder what will the future will be like=D
Signing off.

It's Snowing!
=_= It's raining.
It's Christmas Eve's Morning.
I have been watching YouTube since 12am. eheh.
In the afternoon I had to kill time with the taiwanese drama that Cal lended to me.(It was - sloppy)
I only get to use the mobile modem at night, that depends if I'm willing to stay up.
That's why I'm trying to finish Itazura na Kiss tonight/morning.
The anime is a lot lot betterXD (although sometimes the transition songs may sound like those in the neoprint machines=/)
If you wanna kill time for some entertainment, then go for that anime.
It can be annoying sometimes when the girl gets too stupid. Or her stupid friends.
But a Genius in the story always covers up for the annoying parts. heh.
And I like the various settings.
this bugger here is my favorite character

XD
And,
Happy Birthday to Ryoma-kun!
Tenisu no tensai da!

I'll be watching the last OVA ep next month.
The end of it all. The long manga and anime. The journey of Seigaku players.
Manga ended mid 2008.
oh yea. I dreamt of Russ returning home for 3 consecutive days.

Maromi you innocent puppy.

Another anime I've finished watching. Started during the holidays but only managed to finished it now. It's a 13-episode anime. Short, but CRAZY.
Well then I shall not be a spoiler here.
All I can say is this:
Its about people. All kinds of them.
And the culture we face everyday.
And running away from problems.
There's is hit and run assailant that is described by the victims as a young boy on golden blades and a crooked golden bat, but the victim doesn't recall his face at all, when they are questioned about it.
And then there's this Maromi cartoon character that is all over the series.
Created by a girl that was brought up in a strict family, and her imaginations runs wild and creates very impacting 'stuff'.
You gotta watch it for yourself is you want to know more.
I was clueless in the first episode. And it doesn't seem appealing to me to continue on with the series. But since I started watching it might as well finish it after all its only a 13-episode.
But the Whole story fits nicely like Near's blank puzzle.
Oh. Near, who is he?
He's from Death Note who caught the bad guy.
A blank puzzle, fits nicely, but its blank white.
An open ending.

Satoshi Kon is amazing.

An abnormal genius.
Death Note 'L' fans, take some time to read this interesting article:
http://www.drworm.net/lautism.htm
It may seem that L has Asperger's Syndrome.
His parents might have left him after noticing his autistic traits. (But it makes him so special!) Hmm. That's just my opinion since his background wasn't stated anywhere. We only know that Watari brought him into Wammy's house.
I just love the way the Authors wrote the whole story.
But we still love him, don't we?

Bring me to Wammy's house. please?
I was supposed to catch the movie 'L:Change the World' with my girlfriends today, right after bio extra class. (Bio class huh, it kinda spoil my day)
Yeah and the cinema cut down the show times to a very inconvenient time.
5.30pm.
Still I had to catch it before it completely vanishes from the theatres, or else, too near to my midterm examinations.

The story has a rather straight forward plot.
There's isn't much dark brain battles and extreme suspense like in the Death Note anime. (The DN movie kinda spoil the whole story though).
It was a spin-off from Death Note, and for those who loved L (and his quirks).
Well I did loved him. In the anime.
Kenichi Matsuyama's portrayal of L in DN's movie was better than how the others portray their characters though. But he did not have that spacey look and showing more of his quirks, probably because DN's story was cramped into that two miserable movies, and less scenes with him in it.
But in L:Change the World, yeah. It's all about him. He's the hero and you see all his quirks.
And seeing him babysitting the 2 kids was really cute. His crepe van, riding the bicycle, spending nights in the internet cafe with the two kids, taking a city train and stuff.
This time he got the whole character and personality out! Great spacey looks. Heh.
He had the knowledge of knowing several stuff, like he spoke English and Spanish, controlled a plane, biology and chemistry, breaking codes, he's got a good brain after all.
The part naming Near when entering Wammy's House.. hmm. Well, its just a whole different story from the original Death Note story.
He did utilize the last 23 days of his life for good, with no pride involved.
It was kinda sad in the end though, knowing that he will die.
He has a good human nature.
And he deserves a Nobel Prize for Peace, if someone like him really existed.
That's L. A unique character the authors created.

A Psychological Triller.
I spent a week, on and off, watching another anime, just before the mid year examination.
Heh.
Its Death Note I'm talking about.
I know that people are all over the new movie 'L: Change the World".
A Spin-off from Death Note.
Well, actually I presumed that it must be another useless freaky movie where the protagonist or whoever in it must be a good looking one.
It goes by the name though, telling me that its another horror movie in the market.
Plus what I see in the papers, a pale human looking downwards, I and judged that , that must be the ghostly one. Pale, you see.
But I guess I was wrong to judge a movie by its name.
I checked out the one of the coolest anime ever.
Its a psychological thriller - gets the viewer to figure about the messy situation where the characters get into extreme conditions.
Its about Brilliant Minds.
I can rate all the characters and give them a placing in terms of brainy-ness.
And If I were a character in it, I know I'll be nowhere near the top. >.>
Still, the Brilliant Characters are:

Light Yagami.
The bored, yet probably top student in Japan.
He wants justice, but in a wrong way.
Full of pride, and values his life a lot.
Selfish - only use people and discard (kill) them once they're done with his business.
The ultimate human psyche,
You love him, and yet you hate him - thats the way it is.

L.
The young, 24 year old, top private detective in the world.
He'll put his life on the line on catching Kira.
Has very little pride,
I guess you can never find another human like him,
Quirky, but you'll love him to bits.

Near.
L's successor who solved the Kira case.
He's 15 when he started off where L has left.
He took more precautions than L which practically saved his life.
Calm and defensive, plus the help of the case's base of L, and Mello's side, he solved the Kira case that have been going on for 6 years.
You love him because he's so cute with the bishounen look, he won't love you.
He's too busy meddling with his 101 kinds of interesting toys.

Mello.
Prior to becoming L's successor together with Near, he gave it up and went on with his own plans to catch Kira.
In relation to his death (and Matt) benefited Near when he caught Kira off guard.
Kinda emotional, unlike Near who is the calm one.
You'll love him if you're the hardcore type.

Amane Misa.
She is not your average lala. Of course, she is pretty shallow compared to the rest of the characters, and can’t read ahead like everyone else, but she is pretty smart even then by human standards as she knows how to cover her paths by acting means and knows when not to speak.
She is probably as obsessed with Light as much as Light is obsessed with Justice, which brought to a sad ending.
A more detailed description of the characters here.

Someone whose charater you can never find in reality:

"L, Coil, and Denuve, the world's top 3 detective, I am all 3 of them. Here, I'll give you a strawberry so keep this a secret."
There, for me, I got to go back studying, after feeling so left behind these characters >.<

~end of series~
Today I finish reading the last part of Prince of Tennis manga, after the last episode of the anime - all because I really can't wait to see what will happen in the next season, the last season of the series.
The National Finals.
Its Way Too Exciting for one to wait any longer.
Because its Seigaku, the main protagonist and the Rikkai Kings. Yes, Rikkai Kings.
And Yukimura Seiichi is going have his debut in this series.
The one player who no one has ever beat. None of us seen him play, anyway.
*Spoilers on the manga series 341 and onwards*
A very brief chronology after the super rookie match:
Seigaku went for Yakiniku Party. Had some "Eating battles" with a few other school they have played with: Hyotei Gakuen, Rokkaku Chu, Higa Chuu, Shitenhouji Chuu.
It's kinda funny with Inui's special recipes making the students drop out.
The battle ended with a tie with Seigaku and Hyotei because one of Inui's recipes.
Then came the finals.
Ryoma didn't turn up in the first place. He was in Karuizawa for an unknown reason.
Momo (not playing in the finals) went off the fetch Ryoma back to the match place in Atobe's plane.
In the mean time, Singles 3 - Tezuka vs Sanada.
Sanada had never beaten Tezuka before.
And after the last match he had with Ryoma (which he lost to), he did a lot to improve and punish his self to this match.
A lot of new techniques were used like Sanada's FuuRinKainZanRai and Tezuka's Phantom zone.
They played to their body's limit and in the last shot Tezuka hit, both of them couldn't move already. The ball stayed on the top of the net and at las it dropped to Tezuka's side of the court.
Sanada won singles 3.
And then Ryoma came back with Amnesia.
They day before the match Ryoma's dad brought him into the Karuizawa's cave wanting to teach him a new technique. But an accident happen and Ryoma lost his memory.
Momo tried to teach him tennis again from scratch.
Then it was Doubles 2 - Inui, Kaidoh pair vs. Renji, Kirihara pair.
Kaidoh was Kirihara was doing the attacking and Kirihara got hit by Kaidoh's ball and turned into the beast mode. He took revenge on Inui instead, leaving Inui injured badly.
Rikkaidai won Doubles 2. Inui was brought to the hospital and his head was bandaged (making him look like an idiotic mummy).
Both of them return to the match place and found momo trying to teach Ryoma tennis to bring back his memories. They too help Ryoma gain back his memories, and Ryoma did slowly gain back his memories and could play tennis again.
Singles 2 started. Fuji vs. Niou.
Niou was as good as Tezuka, in the sense that he could mimic all of Tezuka's moves.
This made Fuji assume that his opponent as Tezuka.
Both of them never really had a real match against each other, except the time when Tezuka played with his shoulder not completely healed when they were freshmens.
Fuji managed to surpass that "Tezuka" across the court.
Niou changed himself to Shitenhouji's Shiraishi who played perfect bible tennis. The opponent which Fuji lost to.
Fuji told himself that he will never lose to the same opponent twice.
Well, he won with his 6th counter.
And then it was Doubles 1 - Oishi, Kikumaru pair vs. Bunta, Jackal pair.
Oishi and Kikumaru lost the first few games, the other pair was relatively strong.
And then Ryoma came to the match court and said with thumbs up, I'm ready.
Oishi and Kikumaru got the motivation there, and thinking its their last match together in high school, they played their heart out and secured the second win of Seigaku.
Before singles 1 started, Kintarou (from the super rookie match) ask for a one point match with Yukimura because Ryoma was preparing.
Yukimura agreed to. And he beat Kintarou (who was on par with Ryoma) with his jacket still on his shoulders.
...and then the one that I've been really looking forward to.
Ryoma Echizen vs. Yukimura Seiichi.
Yukimura was nicknamed son of god, nobody has ever beaten him before, least we know.
Ryoma used his twist serve and all his drives against Yukimura, but he all was returned as if it was child's play.
Then many "Muga (doors) " were opened. ( Didn't understand what the special names are called. But it's something like pinnacle of hard work, pinnacle of perfection etc.)
Somehow Yukimura could return them all.
Until the final door was opened. Many flashbacks occured in Ryoma's mind.
Samurai Nanjiroh came to the match too.
Then Ryoma made a counter attack.
Ryoma could finally hit a serve that Yukimura couldn't return.
Even the referee didn't see a thing. He had to play back the monitor and check where did the ball landed in.
It was in Yukimura's court.
He kept on hitting it until it was 4-4.
And then Yukimura used a technique to remove his opponents sensed.
First Ryoma lose his sight, but he still could hear. He used the sound of the ball landing to hit it back.
And then he loses his hearing and sight also, causing him to collapse.
Ryuzaki sensei was crying, seeing him being pushed so hard.
But because he finally admit that tennis is fun, he uses it to push himself to continue the match.
Yukimura was shocked to see the amount of his willpower.
He won by using the samurai drive, splitting the ball into two, and landing in Yukimura's court in two halves.
Seigaku had their victory.
Fuji found Tezuka smilling, saying "only this type of thing will make you smile."
Tezuka replied, "Don't tell this to the others."
LOL
So the next term started. The seniors left. And Kaidoh was the next captain.
Ryoma left to America.
*Spoilers ends here*
Gosh. It was definitely worth following up on this series.
It was exciting.
The characters were great.
And you see how Seigaku evolve in matches. Match after match after match.
Also they fight very hard to reach the final result.
Well, they got what they wanted, in the end =P

tensai no tenisu.

It's February 29 on a leap year.
Therefore, its seigaku's tennis prodigy - Fuji Syusuke's birthday!

Nya~ didn't know anime-tors can make such a character that makes many get attached to it. ^.^
For those who have no idea who this is,
Fuji is:
A student from Seishun Gakuen, from the anime Prince of Tennis.
Tennis player, rank no.2 after captain in the seigaku tennis club.
nicknamed tennis prodigy - check out those cool moves.
found smiling most of the time.
When he's serious, you'll get to see his sharp eyes.
Immune to Inui Juice.
Laidback.
cute. to me.
a mysterious character.
someone who cracks sadistic jokes.
And, born on Febraury 29, that is today!
Happy Birthday Fuji. Stay Angelic. >.<
today my friend randomly stated that, malaysia is promoting racism. Probably angry over what happened in that recent sports day. Look, the whole school's talking!

GYABO! MUKYA!
I happened to be watching Nodame Cantabile instead of doing my homework for the past week.
Thanks to Mercy, I happened to remember hearing her said some anime... cantabile which has violin. The last time I watch a music anime was La Corda D'oro. (characters were more of a 'bishounen' type, but storyline wasn't as interesting as this)
Speaking of Mercy, it's her birthday in 5 minutes time!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MERX!!!
Of course I didn't watch it 24/7 and finish it in 2 days. Just finish the last Ep a few minutes ago.
The ending was su-weeet!

The laughing rate is very compatible to Ouran High School Host Club.
Reason why I give the anime 4.9 stars:
Exceptionally good music - which also made me feel bad because they play much better music than I do.
Catchy song and cute/colorful opening and ending theme.
Good animations - especially when it's the close up when they play an instrument, it's like 3 dimensions, like real.
Can make you laugh throughout the show.
Great characters, all carrying different personalities.
And that romance isn't cheesy at all. It just suddenly gets so sweet and the last part.
Finding a happy anime to watch, then give this a try.

Love and Sound.

Ignore the colorful heads. Just enjoy the music. And story.
The story revolves around a group of students who plays musical instruments chosen for the concourse.
You'll see and hear them play the Violin, Cello, Piano, Trumpet, Clarinet, and Flute.
The piano guy played fantaisie impromptu, minute waltz, revolutionary etude, and la campanella. great songs huh. The pieces played by the other instruments were great too.

heh the 5 hot guys. Too bad it's only anime.

This is Holiday.
When I was younger, holiday means a trip to somewhere nice.
Nowadays, I get that kind of holidays once in a blue moon.
Nowadays it's all about staying at home filling my time with all sorts of drama and TV series.
Finally, I've finish watching all the Prince of Tennis episodes.
Best anime, ever. Ouran High School Host Club can't really beat it, although it has a nice royal atmosphere, (which I really admire because I can never be in a royal place like that) - because the plot is simply makes no sense. I watch it because the characters look good >.<>.>
Tezuka Kunimitsu
Seigaku No. 1. Captain. "Around the court 100 laps! now! everyone!"
Fuji Syusuke
Prodigy, just : *melts* me
Echizen Ryoma
O'Chibi!! "mada mada dane, where's my Ponta..."
Oishi Syuichiroh
hmm, weird?
This episode really cracked me up.
Official introduction: Vice Captain

Kikumaru Eiji
"hoi hoi!"
Momoshiro Takeshi
No.1 rascal. "Dommm.. *winks* "

Kaidoh Kaoru
Snake guy. "WHOI MAMUSHI!" "Fshuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....."

Inui Sadaharu
Data data. "probability of ball across left court corner at angle of 30 degrees, 80%..."
and not forgetting " inui special new improved deluxe juice" >.>

Kawamura Takashi
"IM BURNING!!! COME ON BABY!! STRONG!! POWARR!!!"
Not forgetting the coolest rival school : RikkaiDai <3 href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank">
